Celebrating "Garage Life" courtesy of Downtown Plymouth's 1999 Tavern

Anyone who hangs out in Downtown Plymouth, MI on a regular basis will know what you mean if you mention hanging out in the "Garage" to experience Plymouth nightlife.  Situated in the heart of downtown Plymouth, 1999 Tavern is not only a great place to hang out inside but has made visiting the "Garage" more than just something you do when you need your car repaired.

The Garage is an outdoor "patio" of sorts that has the feel of a garage surrounded by three walls with an open wall facing the streets of downtown Plymouth.  During the winter months, you'll never have to worry about a warm beer while watching the big game.  During the summer months, sit inside the garage and people watch as the busy Plymouth streets come alive with all the excitement of one of the most popular downtown areas in Michigan.

1999 Tavern is known for so much more than its "Garage".  Chef Casey, one of the most talented young chefs in the state, has designed a menu that will please even the most discerning palate.  The menu is full of a variety of exciting restaurant fare, with fantastic starters, crowd pleasing entrees, great soups, interesting salads and memorable pasta dishes.  Have a bowl of Chef Casey's award-winning chili or try one of his tasty wraps.  You simply can't go wrong with any of the selections.

The atmosphere inside 1999 Tavern is warm and inviting, with a wonderful and conscientious wait staff who are eager to meet and exceed your every expectation.  Have a seat at the bar with friends and have a cocktail while watching the big game or grab a table in their tastefully trendy dining room for a more intimate dinner setting.

The bar area is lined with high top tables to gather around while drinking one of the many beers on tap, a nice glass of wine or one of the many liquor choices.  1999 Tavern leaves you wanting for nothing.  Anything you're looking for in a Michigan restaurant and bar, you'll find at this Plymouth, Michigan favorite.

The Starlite Diner and Coney Island - A Treasured Flint Icon Since 1966

Welcome to The Starlite Diner and Coney Island - A Flint Treasure Since 1966

My husband and I had breakfast last Saturday at The Starlite Diner.  The place was absolutely packed!  We sat down, ordered our breakfast and were eating inside 15 minutes.  Did I mention the service was not only incredibly fast but also very friendly and courteous?  Did I mention that besides arriving at our table quickly, our breakfast was delicious?  I really can't say enough about how great my first experience was dining at The Starlite. During the week, they have amazing breakfast specials that fit nicely into even the tightest budgets.  The weekend breakfast fare was just as reasonably priced and clearly made from scratch with the freshest of ingredients.  As Michigan breakfast spots go, this one made my top 10!

Moving on to lunch...  When I went into the Starlite Diner and Coney Island for the initial photo shoot, I was introduced to something called "The Working Man's Lunch".  How do you feel about an authentic, Flint-style coney dog, a famous Starlite cheeseburger, fries and a softdrink all for $5.50?  I don't believe I've ever seen anything like it in my life. After the shoot that day, I was encouraged to sample this "Working Man's Lunch" and I have rave reviews.  The authentic Flint-style coney made with a Koegel's hotdog and Starlite's own coney sauce was served on a steamed bun with mustard and onions was fantastic.  The Starlite cheeseburger, made with burger ground earlier that morning, was one of the best burgers I've ever had.  This lunch special at that incredible price is nothing short of spectacular!

I've not experienced dinner at this 24-hour establishment but have every reason to believe that the dinner selections are just as delicious and reasonably priced.  The Starlite Diner has a fun and interesting atmosphere with retro decor and warm, attentive wait staff.  Sit in a big comfortable booth, at the snack bar or in your car at the drive-thru window and get the same great value and fantastic food!

Steeped in tradition, this family-owned coney island style restaurant has been a Flint treasure since 1966.  You're always treated like family when you walk through the doors of this iconic restaurant located near the intersection of N. Center Road and Davison Road in Burton.  Famous for its breakfasts, burgers and coneys, the Starlite Diner is also the perfect choice to cater your next event.  Give them a try for your next important occasion.
